The Engine

Not generic AI.
A deterministic engine.

Most apps hand you a static plan or hide their logic behind a black box. BIG Z does neither. It is a rule-based engine, built from 20 years of competition coaching, that reads your real performance and rewrites your next session in front of you.

The loop

Three stages, one continuous loop. It runs after every single session you log.

01

LOG

Every set. Every rep. Every RPE.

You record what actually happened, not what the program said should happen. Load, reps and perceived exertion. That ground truth is the only thing the engine trusts.

02

ANALYZE

Performance versus target, every time.

The engine compares actual output against expected. It tracks fatigue trends, RPE drift, velocity decline and volume tolerance, and it builds a fatigue projection so it can see a stall before it happens.

03

ADAPT

Next session, recalculated.

Load, volume and exercise selection update automatically. Deloads trigger on evidence, not on a fixed calendar. The program becomes yours, session by session.

Deterministic

Same inputs always produce the same outputs.

There is no randomness and no "the algorithm decided." Every adjustment follows an explicit rule you could read on paper. That means the engine is auditable: when your load drops 5 percent, there is a named reason behind it, and you can see it. Predictable coaching is coachable coaching.

What it adapts

Load

Working weights recalculate from RPE and performance trend. Never too heavy, never too light.

Volume

Sets scale up when you are tolerating work and pull back the moment fatigue accumulates faster than it clears.

Exercise selection

Movements swap when equipment, pain or weak points demand it, while keeping the training stimulus intact.

Deloads

Triggered by measured drift and a fatigue projection, not by an arbitrary week 4. Recovery happens when you need it.

Audit trail

Every decision explained

The engine does not hide its logic. Every load change, every deload, every exercise swap comes with the reason that triggered it. You understand why, not just what, so you learn as you train.

Safety layer

Injury aware by design

Tell it where you hurt. The engine substitutes or modifies the affected movements automatically and keeps the stimulus, so a tweak does not cost you a training block.
